How does fertilization take place in human beings? Fertilization takes place once in a month. Comment.

a] Sperm enters through the vaginal passage during sexual intercourse and moves upwards.
b] Ovum (egg cell) released from the ovary reaches the oviduct.
c] Sperm encounters ovum in the oviduct and they fuse to form zygote. This process is termed as fertilization.
Fertilization takes place only once in a month in human female because only one egg (ovum) in released from ovary every month.
