In evolutionary terms, can we say which among bacteria, spiders, fish and chimpanzees have a 'better' body design? Why or why not?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No. we can.t. The above mentioned organisms differ in the complexity of body design. Each of the body design is equally efficient and has developed as a result of variation and genetic drift. None of the designs are better or lesser than the other. Evolution is simply the generation of diversity and the shaping of the diversity by environmental selection and not a PROGRESS.
