One - half of a convex lens is convered with a black paper. Will this lens produce a complete image of the object ? Verify your answer experimentally. Explain your observations.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The convex lens will form complete image of the object. There are numerous light rays falling on each point on the object. Consider the top part of the convex lens being convered by the black paper. In this case, the light rays which fall on the lower half of the lens get refracted and forms the image.

In the next case the lower part of the convex lens is convered with black paper. The light rays which fall on the upper half of the lens get refracted and forms the image.
