Is it possible for a convex lens kept in one medium to act like a diverging lens when placed in medium ? Given reason.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Yes, it is possible. The medium surrounding the convex lens should have a greater refractive index when compared to the refractive index of the material for the convex lens. In other words, the surrounding medium should be denser than the material of the lens.
