State the relationship between 1 volt and 1 joule.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

I volt can be defined as 1 Joule per Coulomb i.e.
`V=W/Q`
Electric Potential of a charge is the amount of work involved to move a unit of positive electric charge from an infinite position to a position against the intensity of the electric field of charge. Electric Potential is calculated in Volts, Charge in Coulomb and work in Joule.
