If the value of g suddenly becomes twice...

If the value of g suddenly becomes twice its value, it will become two times more difficult to pull a heavy object along the floor. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The initial weight of the body is, w = mg
As the value of g doubles, `g_(1)=2g`
`therefore" the new weight will be "w_(1)=mg_(1)=m(2g)=2mg=2w.`
Hence, it will become twice more difficult to pull the body.
