Calculate the escape velocity on earth's...

Calculate the escape velocity on earth's surface for an object of mass 10 kg.

Text Solution

Given :
`g=9.8m//s^(2)andR=6.4xx10^(6)m`
The escape velocity is given by
`Ve=sqrt(2dR)`
`Ve=sqrt(2xx9.8xx6.4xx10^(6))`
`=11.2xx10^(3)m//s`
`Ve=11.2km//s`
The escape velocity is constant for everybody on the Earth.s surface. It does not depend on mass.
