Budding is an asexual method of reproduction that takes place in Hydra. In this, the ectodermal interstitial cells multiply to form an outgrowth called bud. The bud grows consisting of ectoderm, endoderm and gastrovascular cavity. The bud develops mouth and tentacles at its free end. The fully grown bud separates from the parent body of Hydra and grows into an adult Hydra.
