Strawberry is sweet and eaten raw just like any other fruit. Why do botanists call it a false fruit?

In most of the plants, by the time fruit develops from the ovary, other floral parts degenerate and falloff. However, in case of strawberry, along with the ovary, the thalamus also contributes in the fruit formation. So, it is called a-false fruit
