The hormones that regulate menstrual cycle along with their functions are
(i) Pituitary gonadotropins (LH, FSH and oestrogen) These help in the proliferation of Graafian follicle and endometrium of uterus.
(a) FSH stimulates the growth of ovarian follicle and secretion of oestrogen.
(b) Oestrogen increased level of oestrogen gives positive feedback and stimulates more LH production.
(c) LH stimulates ovulation. (ii) Progesterone Essential for the maintenance of endometrium.
