Implantation is the attachment of the fertilised egg to the wall of uterus of mother. It occurs about seven days after fertilisation. After attachment, the uterine cells divide rapidly and cover the blastocyst. As a result, the blastocyst becomes embedded in the endometrium. This is called implantation.
