How is tubectomy effective in birth control ?

Tubectomy is a pemanent method of birth control and sterilisation in female. It is basically tubal ligation, i.e. a laproscopic method of cutting and clamping of Fallopian tubes. It blocks the ovum from reaching the uterus for fertilisation. It is a `99%` effective method of birth control whose reversibility is very poor.
