Write short note on hydrophytic adaptations of plants

Adaptations in hydrophytic plants are as follows
(i) Aquatic plants or hydrophytes have an evolved aerenchyma for buoyancy and floating.
(ii) They have covering of wax to avoid damage, roots are generally absent in plants like Hydrilla and Nymphaea.
(iii) Cuticle is generally absent with poorly developed hypodermis and vascular tissue is highly reduced.
