Explanation

Wildlife Protection Act `(1972)` was enacted to provide protection to wild flora and fauna and other natural resources. This acot offers protection based on two approaches that are
(a) Species based approach for specific endangered species which are protected by special Project Tiger.
(b) Habitat based approach which is conservation of endangered wild flora and funna in National Park and Wildlife Sanctuaries.
