Explanation

Competition is a type of interaction where both the interacting species suffer. It may exist between the members of same species (interspecific competition) or between individuals of different species (intraspecific competition).
Competition between closely related species, occurs due to requirement of similar resources and space. For example, competition between tiger and lion for food such as deer.
