Emasculation 

Explanation

Emasculation is a process of removal of anthers, physically or chemically in self-pollinated plants. It is an important step in plant breeding programmes. This method is used to prevent self-pollination in plant breeding experiments.
When physical removal of anthers by cutting them is not possible, some other methods are used, e.g. dipping the panicle in hot water `(50^(@)C)` for 10 minutes as done in Sorghum or through chemical treatments like 2, 4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid, maleic hydrazide, as for plants like wheat.
