Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Cleavage is the repeated splitting or division of an activated egg (zygote) by a series of mitotic cell divisions into· a multitude of (2, 4, 6, 8, 16) daughter cells which become the building units of future organisms. It converts the Single cell zygote into a solid ball of cells called morula. It moves from the Follopian tube into the uterus and later changes into a hollow ball of cells called blastula. The process of cleavage is also called segmentation of cellulation.
