Explain why some of the leaves may get detached from a tree if we vigorously shake its branch

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The leaves are at rest before shaking the branch. When the tree.s branch is shaken vigorously, the branch comes into motion while the leaves try to remain at rest due to inertia of rest. Hence the leaves get detached from the branch and fall down.
