Explain, why is it difficult for a fireman to hold a hose, which ejects large amounts of water at a higla velocity

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The water ejected from the hose at high velocity comes out with a large momentum and an equal amount of momentum is developed in the hose in the opposite direction and the hose is pushed backward. So the fireman experiences a large backward force. It becomes difficult for the fireman to hold the hose.
