Two similar trucks, one loaded and the other empty, are moving on a straight road with the same velocity. Which of the two will require a larger force to stop it? Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The loaded truck has more inertia than that of the empty truck. So the momentum of the loaded truck is more than that of the empty truck. Hence greater force is required to stop the loaded truck than the empty one.
