How will the weight of a body of mass 100 kg change, if it is taken from the equator to the poles ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The weight of a body =mg. The radius of the earth is maximum at the equator. The radius of the earth is less at the poles than that at the equator. g is inversely proportional to the square of the radius. Hence, the value of g is more at poles than at equator. So the weight of a body of mass 100 kg will be more at poles than at equator.
