Amit buys some gram of gold on North pole as his friend told him. He sold this gold to his friend on equator .Will his friend be happy with the weight of gold that he bought ? Why .
(Hint : The magnitude of g on the poles is more than that at equator).

The friend will not agree with the weight of gold bought.
Because `g alpha 1/R_(e)^(2), R_c` is the radius of the earth. The radius of the earth at the poles is less than that at the equator.
Hence, the value of g is greater at the pole than at the equator.
So, the weight of gold will be more at the pole and less at the equator.
