It is difficult to insert a blunt nail in wooden block.

The area of the blunt end of a nail is more than that of the sharp end of that nail. As the area of cross-section is more, for given value of force the pressure on it is less. Thus, the pressure produced on blunt end is less. Hence, it is difficult to insert a blunt nail in wooden block.
