.(a) The sensation of sound persists in our brain for about 0.1 s.
The speed of sound is 344 `ms^(-1)` Hence, sound travels a distance of 344 m in 1 s.
`therefore` the distance travelled by sound in 0.18 Is 34.4 m.This distance is twice the minimum distance between the source and the reflector. Therefore, the minimum distance should be `(34.4m)/(2)` -=17.2 m
(b) The speed of sound is directly proportional to the temperature. ie.. the speed of sound Increases with the increase in temperature. So, on a hotter day the speed of sound will increase.
