Verified by Experts

In coastal regions, the amount of water is more and the specific heat of water is much higher than that of the land. Hence, a major part of heat coming from the sun is absorbed by water. The increase in temperature of water is less because of its high specific heat. Hence, the temperature of the land does not change much.
