If sin^(-1)(x^2-4x+5)+cos^(-1)(y^2-2y+2)...

If `sin^(-1)(x^2-4x+5)+cos^(-1)(y^2-2y+2)=pi/2` then find the value of `xa n dydot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`sin^-1(x^2-4x+5)+cos^-1(y^2-2y+2) = pi/2`
`=>sin^-1((x-2)^2+1)+cos^-1((y-2)^2+1) = pi/2`
Now, maximum value of `(x-2)^2+1` can be `1`,
`:. (x-2)^2` should be `0`.
`=> (x-2)^2 - 0 => x = 2`
Maximum value of `(y-1)^2+1` can be `1`,
`:. (y-1)^2` should be `0`.
`=> (y-1)^2 - 0 => y = 1`
