Reduce the equation of line `x-y+2z=5a d n3x+y+z=6` in symmetrical form. Or Find the line of intersection of planes `x-y+2z=5a n d3x+y+z=6.`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given `x-y+2z=5, 3x+y+z=6`.
Let `" "z=lamda`
Then `x-y=5-2lamda and 3x+y=6-lamda`.
Solving these two equations, `4x=11-3lamda and 4y=4x-20+8lamda=-9+5lamda`.
The equation of the line is `(4x-11)/(-3)=(4y+9)/(5)=(z-0)/(1)`.
