Solve cos^(-1) (cos x) gt sin^(-1) (sin ...

Solve `cos^(-1) (cos x) gt sin^(-1) (sin x), x in [0, 2pi]`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have `cos^(-1) (cos x) gt sin^(-1) (sin x)`
To solve this inequality, we drawn the graph of `y = cos^(-1) (cos x) and y = sin^(-1) (sin x) " for " x in 90, 2pi]`

From the figure, we can see that graph of `y cos^(-1) (cos x)` lies above the graph of `y = sin^(-1) (sin x) " for " x in (pi//2, 2pi)`
Thus, solution of `cos^(-1) (cos x) gt sin^(-1) (sin x) " is " x in (pi//2, 2pi)`
