Find the area of a triangle having vertices `A(3,2),B(11 ,8),` and `C(8,12)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let `A-=(x_1,y_1)-=(3,2),B (x_2,y_2)-=(11,8)` , and `C-=(x_3,y_3)-=(8,12)`. Then,
Area of `DeltaABC=(1)/(2) |{x_1(y_2-y_3)+x_2(y_3-y_1)+x_3(y_1-y_2)}|`
`=(1)/(2)|{(3(8-12)+11(12-2)+8(2-8)}|`
`=(1)/(2) |{-12+110-48}|`
`=25` sq.units
