In the expansion of (3sqrt(a/b)+3sqrt(b/...

In the expansion of `(3sqrt(a/b)+3sqrt(b/sqrt(a)))^21`, the term containing same powers of a & b is

Text Solution

We have
`T_(r+1) = .^(21)C_(r)(sqrt(3)sqrt((a)/(sqrt(b))))^(21-r)(sqrt((b)/(3sqrt(a))))^(r)`
`= .^(21)C_(r)a^(7-(r//2))b^((2//3)r-(7//2))`
Since the powers of a and b are same, we have
` 7 - r/2 = 2/3 r - 7/2` or `r = 9`
