Antiseptics are the type of substances which hinders or slows down the growth of microbes. These are applied to the living tissues such as wounds, cuts, ulcers and other disease skin surfaces. These are not ingested as antibiotics. Disinfectants are the chemical agents to destroy bacteria. These are applied to inanimate objects such as floors, drainage systems, instruments to sterilise.
