Balbiani rings are sites of

A

Lipid synthesis

B

Nucleotide synthesis

C

Polysaccharide synthesis

D

RNA and protein synthesis

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

According to Textbooks, genetics by strickberger and "genetics by PK gupta", balbiani rings are sites of RNA synthesis. This RNA then goes to cytoplasm and makes proteins at the ribosomes. Balbiani rings being a part of chromosomes cannot be a site of protein synthesis. thus, even the option (4) "RNA and protein synthesis" is not copletely correct.
