A biodiverisity hot spot is a biogeographic region with reservoir of biodiversity that is under threat from humans. India has two major hot sopts. The rate of deforestation in these areas is very high and ecosystems have reached at a fragile stage. These two areas are the Western Ghats and the Eastern Himalayas.
