Two basic groups of diseases are
(i) Infectious diseases are those which has the ability of transmitting from one person to angther, e-g. AIDS, common cold, etc.
(ii) Non-infectious diseases which does not have the ability of transmitting from one person to another, eg. cancer, diabetes, etc.
