What is a toxoid? Name the bacterial diseases against which toxoids are used as vaccines.

Some pathogenic bacteria producess exotoxins which are isolated and chemically modified to reduce their toxicity. Such exotoxins are non-toxic immunogenic deterivatives also called as toxoids. Diphtheria and teranus vaccines are produced from toxoids and treat bacterial diseases.
