What is diabetes mellitus ? How can it be controlled?

The increased level of blood sugar in human body due to hyposecretion of insulin hormone leads to a condition called hyperglycemia. Prolonged hyperglycemia leads to diabetes mellitus characterised by high sugar, weight loss and production of excess urine. It is an acquired non-communicable discase of humans.
Diabetes can be kept under control by changing the diet to sugar free, administration of insulin hormone through injections, etc.
