What are limited spectrum antibiotics? Give an example.

The antibiotics which kill or inhibit a short range of Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria are called narrow spectrum antibiotics. If they are effective against a single microorganism, they are known as limited spectrum antibiotics, e.g. penicillin.
