Text Solution

A group of derivatives of sulphanilamide are called sulpha drugs. These have fairly good antibacterial powers and have been widely used against diseases like dysentery, diphtheria) Thus, sulpha drugs work like antibiotics. However, antibiotics may be either wholly or partially obtained from microorganisms. Since, sulpha drugs are purely synthetic, thus these are not antibiotics in real sense.
