The correct Answer is:

Clearly, the number of students in a row are
N =Top rank + Bottom rank - 1
`= Tr + Br -1 `
` = 9 + 9 - 1`
`= 17`
So the answer is (c )
Remember (i) N = Tr + Br -1
(ii) Tr = ( N + 1) - Br
(iii) Br = (N + 1) - Tr
