Sulphur combines with hydrogen and oxygen to give `H_2S"and "SO_2` respectively. In what ratio will `H_2` and `O_2` combine to from `H_(2)O`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`{:(S+ H_(2) rarr H_(2)S" "S : H " ratio "= 32:2),(S +O_(2)rarrSO_(2)" "S : O" ratio "=32:32):}`
When `H_(2)` and `O_(2)` combines the ratio will be `2 : 32" or "1 :16` or its multiple. In `H_(2)O` the ratio is `1 : 8`.
