The solubility products of MA,MB,MC, and...

The solubility products of MA,MB,MC, and MD are `1.8 xx10^(-10), 4 xx10^(-3), 4xx 10^(-8) and 6 xx10^(-5)` respectively. Ifa 0.01 M solution of MX is added dropwise to a mixture containing `A ^(Ө), B ^(Ө), C^(Ө)and D ^(Ө)` ions, then the one to be precipitated first will be

A

MA

B

MB

C

MC

D

MD

The correct Answer is:
A

Since all compounds `(MA, MB, MC, and MB)` ae univalent type. All will have the same formula of solubility in `H _(2) O i.e., sqrt ( K_(sp )).` Same concentration of common ioon `( M ^(o+))` is added, so solubilities of all will be suppressed. Hence, the compound with least `K _(sp)` value will be precipitated, i.e, MA with `K _(sp) = 1 .8 xx 10 ^(-10).`
