The six different radiations correspond to

`E _(4 )- E _(1)`
`E _(4) - E _(2), E _(2 ) - E _(1)`
`E _(3) - E_(2)`
Whenever the electron jumps from `E_(4)` to `E_(1)` either directly or in steps `E_(4)` to `E_(3)` to `E_(3)` to `E_(1)` a characteristic radiation is emitted
The reason is not correct as the electron does not emit radiation when going from any lower orbit to any other higher orbit. The electron will emit radiation only when going from a higher to a lower orbit nor from a lower orbit to a higher orbit.
