Explain why A fluid flowing out of a small hole in a vessel results in a backward thrust on the vessel

A rectangular glass block of thickness 10 cm and refractive index 1.5 is placed over a small coin.A beaker is filled with water of refractive index 4//3 to a height of 10 cm and is placed over a small block. If the eye is slowly moved away from the normal at a certain position, the coin is found to diappear due to total internal reflection. At what surface does it happen and why? .

A vessel is in the form of an inverted cone. Its height is 8 cm and the radius of its top, which is open, is 5 cm. It is filled with water up to the brim. When lead shots, each of which is a sphere of radius 0.5 cm are dropped into the vessel, onefourth of the water flows out. Find the number of lead shots dropped in the vessel.

Water is dripping out form a conical funnel at the uniform rate of 2cm^3//s through a tiny hole at the vertex at the bottom. When the slant height of the water is 5 cm, find the rate of decrease of the slant height of the water.

Find the time required for a cylindrical tank of radius r and height H to empty through a round hole of area a at the bottom. The flow through the hole is according to the law v(t)=ksqrt(2gh(t)) , where v(t) and h(t) , are respectively, the velocity of flow through the hole and the height of the water level above the hole at time t , and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

A vessel is in the form of an inverted cone. Its height is 8 cm and the radius of its top, which is open, is 5 cm. It is filled with water up to the brim. When lead shots, each of which is a sphere of radius 0.5 cm are dropped into the vessel, one-fourth of the water flows out.Find the number of lead shots dropped in the vessel.

Water is leaking from a conical funnel at a uniform rate of 4 cm^3//sec thorugh at small hole at the vertex. When the slant height of the water in the funnel is 3 cm, find the rate of decrease of the slant height of water given that semi vertical angle of the cone (funnel) is 30^@ .

Explain why on addition of 1 mol of NaCl to 1 litre of water, the boiling point of water increases, while addition of 1 mol of methyl alcohol to one litre of water decreases its boiling point.
