Particles `A` and `B` are moving with constant velocities along `x` and `y` axis respectively, the graph of separation between them with time is

A

B

C

D

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

First separation will decrease and then it will increase. First there will be some `v_("app")` then `v_("app")` will decrease slowly and become zero after `v_("sep")` will increase gradually. Hence slope will decrease till it become zero afterward it will increase.

Two particles A and B move along the straight lines x+2y+3=0 and 2x+y-3=0 respectively. Their positive vector, at the time of meeting will be

Assertion: In successive time intervals if the average velocities of a particle are equal then the particle must be moving with constant velocity. Reason: When a particle moves with uniform velocity, its displacement always increases with time.

Statement-I : If two particles, moving with constant velocities are to meet, the relative velocity must be along the line joining the two particles. Statement-II : Relative velocity means motion of one particle as viewed from the other.

Two particles A and B are performing SHM along x and y-axis respectively with equal amplitude and frequency of 2 cm and 1 Hz respectively. Equilibrium positions of the particles A and B are at the coordinates [3 cm, 0] and (0, 4 cm) respectively. At t = 0 ,B is at its equilibrium position and moving towards the origin, while A is nearest to the origin and moving away from the origin- Minimum and maximum distance between A and B during the motion is-
