According to the tranistion state theory...

According to the tranistion state theory, for the formation of on activation complex, one of the vibrational degree of freedom is converted into the tranistion degree of freedom.
Reason (R ): The energy of the activated complex is higher than the energy of the reactant molecules.

The correct Answer is:
a

`A+B hArr (AB)^(3) to` products.
The activated complex can also be treated as a distinct chemical species in equilibrium as a distinct chemical species in equilibrium with the reactants which then decompose into products. It is however, a special molecule in which one vibrationla degree of freedom has been converted to a transalational degree of freedom along the reaction coordinate. It must be remembred that hte activated comple is not merely an intermediate in process of breaking or forming of chemical bonds. It is unstable because it is situated at the maximum of he potential energy barrier separating the produts from the reactants. The difference between the enrgy of the activated complex `(E_(1))` and the energy of the rectants `(E_(2))` is the activation energy `E_(a)`.
`E_(1)-E_(2)=E_(a) E_(1) gt gt E_(2)`
