How is half-life period of a reaction is inversely proportional to initial concentration for a second order reaction?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`t_(1//2) prop a^(1-n) .` For a second order reaction, n = 2 and
` t_(1//2) = a^(1-2) or a^(-1) or t_(1//2) prop (1)/(a)`
Thus, half-life period of a second order reaction is inversely proportional to initial concentration of the reactant.
