An alkyl halide (X)of the folmula C(6)H(...

An alkyl halide `(X)`of the folmula `C_(6)H_(13)Cl` on treatment with potassium tertiary butoxide gives two isomeric alkenes `(Y)` and `(Z)(C_(6)H_(12))`. Both the alkenes on hydrogenation give `2,3-`dimethyl butane. Perdict the structures of `(X),(Y)` , and `(Z)`

According to the given data:
`C_6H_13Cl overset((CH_3)_3COK)to` Two isomeric alkenes Y and Z having molecular formula `C_6H_12 overset(H_2)to underset("2,3-Dimethylbutane")(CH_3-overset(CH_3)underset(|)(CH) - overset(CH_3)overset(|)(CH) - CH_3)`
Two alkenes which can give 2,3 -dimethylbutane on hydrogenation are :
`underset((Y))(CH_3- overset(CH_3)overset(|)C = overset(CH_3)overset(|)C - CH_3) and underset((Z))(CH_2 = overset(CH_3)overset(|)C -overset(CH_3)overset(|)CH - CH_3)`
Alkyl halide [X] should be a tert-alkyl halide having two methyl groups at C-2 and C-3.
Thus, the reaction may be represented as
