Why ketones do not easily unergo oxidation?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Ketones do not easily undergo oxidation because these require the breaking of strong carbon-carbon bonds. Therefore, these are not oxidised by mild oxidising agents like Tollens. reagent, Fehling solution and Benedict.s solutions.
