Give reasons for the following.
As water is subjected to heating, its temperature increases and become constant at `100^@C` even through water is still there in the container and the supply of heat is contained.

`100^@C` is the boiling point of pure water. At this temperature, water starts vaporizing into steam. Till the entire water in the container gets converted to steam, the temperature remains constant at `100^@C` The heat is utilized for breaking the intermolecular forces of attraction.
