Bacterial cell is a prokaryotic cell. Nucleus is not enveloped by a nuclear membrane .
• It contains a single chromosome with DNA. Nucleolus is absent .
• It does not possess membrane bound cell organelles. Mitochondria are absent
• The cell membrane consists of infoldings called mesosomes which help in respiration
